
Bicycle Handle Bar
This project explores the intersection of luxury automotive design and urban cycling innovation through the creation of a Lexus-inspired smart bicycle handlebar. While not officially affiliated with Lexus, this concept takes inspiration from the refined aesthetics and precision engineering of the brand, translating its signature design language into a cutting-edge cycling accessory. The result is a handlebar that seamlessly blends sleek lines with functional elegance.
Brand analysis
To ensure the bicycle handlebar design stayed true to the essence of Lexus, we conducted an in-depth brand analysis. This involved studying Lexus' brand values, product philosophy, and design language to understand how the brand conveys luxury, precision, and innovation. We examined both the interior and exterior design of Lexus vehicles, identifying key elements such as flowing lines and sculpted surfaces. The analysis included a form study, where we observed recurring shapes and contours in Lexus designs, allowing us to translate these into the aesthetic and ergonomic aspects of the handlebar.
By carefully analyzing these elements, we crafted a handlebar that reflects Lexus' signature elegance and sophistication, seamlessly integrating their design principles into a cycling product.






Concept Development
The concept development phase focused on ideation, sketching, and 3D modeling to translate Lexus’ design language into a functional bicycle handlebar.

1. Ideation & Sketching
Initial freehand sketches explored different forms, inspired by Lexus' sharp lines, aerodynamic curves, and lighting elements. Various profiles and structures were tested to integrate both aesthetics and functionality.

2. 3D Modeling & Refinement
Moving to 3D modeling, different shapes were refined to enhance ergonomics, structure, and smart features.

CAD Modelling
To finalize the design, I created a detailed CAD model, refining the handlebar’s shape, proportions, and smart features. This model showcases the design from multiple angles, allowing for a comprehensive view of its ergonomics, structure, and integration of lighting elements.
