Carbon Fiber Pole Spear
Redesign Bar: Text

The project involved the concept and design of a carbon fiber roller pole spear, incorporating a roller system to enhance shooting performance. The client specified several key requirements for the design, including two 1.5m carbon rods with a 17mm diameter and a 3mm outer carbon wall, joined by a stainless steel connector. The spear was to feature a roller head with ceramic or stainless steel bearings, along with a 300mm stainless steel injector rod fitted with a slip tip. Additionally, the setup included 14mm progressive speargun rubber, with a nylon hand strap attached at the other end for improved handling. The final design resulted in an approximate total length of 3.7 meters, ensuring both durability and precision in performance.

Exploded View

The exploded view visually breaks down the carbon fiber roller pole spear, showcasing its individual components and assembly process. It highlights the two 1.5m carbon rods, joined by a stainless steel connector, ensuring a secure and lightweight structure. The roller head with ceramic or stainless steel bearings is designed for smooth operation and improved shooting efficiency.

3D Modelling & Rendering

The 3D modeling and rendering process was essential in visualizing the carbon fiber roller pole spear, ensuring both its functionality and aesthetics before production. Detailed CAD modeling was used to refine each component, including the roller system, pole spear structure, and mechanical connections, ensuring precision in dimensions and material integration.

Rendered images showcase the roller system in detail, highlighting the ceramic or stainless steel bearings and progressive speargun rubber setup, demonstrating how the mechanism enhances shooting efficiency. Additional renders of the pole spear provide a realistic representation of its carbon fiber construction, stainless steel components, and overall assembly, giving a clear visualization of the final product's look and performance.

Manufacturing

To ensure precision and feasibility, technical drawings were created for all components of the carbon fiber roller pole spear, detailing dimensions and material specifications for manufacturing.

The roller system was the first part to be fabricated, allowing for an initial prototype to be tested and analyzed. This step was crucial in assessing functionality, performance, and potential improvements before proceeding with the full production of the spear.

Below, images showcase the roller system prototype, while the video captures the pole spear in action underwater, demonstrating its effectiveness and real-world performance.
